Hello Sunshine!
Well how is everyone today? I'm doing just fine here. Kind of bored, actually, we have nothing planned to do today - all the other elders wanted to sleep today, lame!! But we are going to go to Pizza Libre, that’s where they have all the crazy pizzas to eat where I went in my very first area and they have Alexis’ favorite egg pizza, mm mm mm. Fun, huh? But. Yeah, my week was pretty good. We went by Liliana’s but nothing has changed. She looked kind of sad but didn’t say much and didn’t really want our help. So we aren’t really sure if things are better, worse, or the same. The sad thing is she didn’t go to church yesterday. And I think I told you about David last week or in the past? He’s a 9-year-old kid who hasn’t been baptized yet, and his parents are less-active. We went by his house 3 times a day this week but his mom was never there! She works a lot and that’s mainly why she doesn’t go to church. David wants to get baptized so we planned with him to do it Sunday and he agreed, but we couldn’t find his mom to talk about it and teach him a couple more things he needed. He also told us that his mom said she would be working Sunday in the afternoon so we couldn’t hold the baptism then. But we walked by their house yesterday and we saw her! Aye-yay-yay. We will try again this week and maybe we will pull off a miracle. On the good side, we had another “noche de hogar” (family night) last night with the member family and those teenage kids who have been going to church. The other night we finally got to teach one of them, Pablo, and he accepted a baptismal date. We are planning it for the 12th of March. The only thing is that he doesn’t know if he can commit to change, and he knows it’s a big thing to get baptized. He is reading and praying, though, so that’s a good sign. The sad part is that his friend who is a member, doesn’t really like attending church every week and says his parents obligate him to go and he doesn’t understand a lot of things about the church so Pablo doesn’t have a good example in him and the parents say it’s too fast to be talking about baptism. It’s tough when the members don’t fully understand the doctrine. But what are we going to do about it? So we should have a baptism the 12th, which I'm stoked about! Just got to hope everything goes smoothly. We have had a good week, though. We taught more lessons this past week than any other week since I've been in this area! We did teach another 20-year-old man, named Alejandro who accepted a baptismal date but we haven’t been able to find him home again; hopefully he will be able to teach him again this week. Well that’s about it for me. Still not a whole lot to tell but we are progressing here in the Pablo Nogues, which is just pretty fantastic! We can do it! Well hope you all have a fantastically awesome week. Enjoy the weather and all the other stuff.
Love you all,
Drew
